Polecat blends multiple genres including bluegrass, country, celtic, rock, reggae and world music. The band with four guys and one lady centers around fiddle player Cayley Schmid. Aaron Guest does lead vocals and 12 string, with Jeremy Elliott lead guitar, Richard Reeves on upright bass and Karl Olson on drums. The sense of unity in the band clearly works in their favor as they seem like they've been together since birth. Polecat creates music that makes you want to get up and dance.
California based singer/songwriter, guitar and banjoman Joe Stevens is a third-generation professional musician in a long line of restless westward moving souls. Joe is one third of Coyote Grace, the Alt-Americana trio founded in Seattle’s Pike’s Place Market. Coyote Grace began as a busking nomadic duo with Ingrid Elizabeth on upright bass, ukulele, and cajon.
Irreverent songwriters, expert instrumentalists, former street-performers, and consummate showmen, The Two Man Gentlemen Band has been barnstorming from coast to coast for nearly a decade, developing a reputation as a must-see live act on the roots and retro music circuits. A tenor guitar and string bass duo in the tradition of the great Slim & Slam – with the occasional pyrotechnic banjo feature thrown in – Andy Bean and Fuller Condon have an obvious affection for pre-war American Jazz and Western Swing—but they’re no period piece.
There’s a restless spirit flowing through the North Country that’s hard to define, and sometimes a good song is the only way to put it into proper perspective. The May North has a rare knack for doing just that—making sense of love, loss, long winters, longer highways and the shifting lines between urban and country living. With a sound that’s part folk, part bluegrass and a bit of breakneck blues, The May North pays tribute to these forms while carving its own path.
