: Dear Georgiana: "It Was You"

Dear Georgiana sings "It Was You."

Filmed at Miles of Music Camp on Lake Winnipesaukee.
Audio & Video by Jacob Blumberg for Mason Jar Music.

FEATURING: Lauren Balthrop - ukulele and vocals

ABOUT THE SONG: One rather brisk morning at Miles of Music Camp 2014, a friend sent a text around asking if anyone could teach her morning writing class as she was feeling a bit under the weather and so I volunteered. I came to class a bit hungover and bleary eyed, but prepared to get some minds rolling. I hadn't ever taught a songwriting class and sort of let the class go do some free-writing for half an hour. I went off by myself to one of the big rocking chairs on the porch with my ukulele in tow and wrote this song. At first, I thought it was a love song and it can be that too as songs can take on many meanings to different people, but the more and more I sang this song, I realized it's really a song about self-discovery and finding the youness of you in all it's cheesy glory.
